If anyone is still out there after that last thing I put up, which I stand behind, 93%, here is page 30 of part 3 of the comic strip.
My only consolation: finding out that I’m my one true obligation.
Who needs a dream? Who needs ambition? Who’d be the fool in my position? Not very many, the way things are going, there’ll soon be one less. No one in your life is with you constantly. No one is completely on your side. And though I moved my world to be with them, still the gap between us was too wide. And I won’t miss them, they made it perfectly clear: I was a fool and probably queer. Not a help, you’ll admit, to agreement between us. I’ve taken mitz for seven years and I won’t take it anymore. Each day got through means one or two less mistakes remain to be made.
Let man’s petty fandoms tear themselves apart. It brings me no joy adding to their satisfaction. Bit by bit the pieces fit the bimshwellian machine advances, not one move that won’t improve our nation’s chances. This is the one situation I wanted most to avoid. What on earth am I doing, I could be better employed! I don’t care if you’re a champion, no one messes with me. I am ruthless in upholding what I know is right, black or white, as you’ll see. I’m on the case, can’t be fooled. Any objection is overruled. One night in bimshwel and the tough guys tumble. If you don’t like it then it’s up to you. You’ve a better reason to be anti-nem than me. How can you let mediocrity win? Who do these foreign chappies think they are? I can’t believe that they don’t see my game; I’m like that tennis player — what’s his name? Maybe it’s a bit confusing, for a game, but rubik’s cubes were much the same. And the appeal, partner, of this deal, partner, Is we both stand to win; We’ll bring back the golden era.
No no, you’re reacting exactly the way that they waaaaant! And ehhhhvery poison word shows that you never understood. You take care you don’t let their shenanigans blind you. It’s all very well to say “you fool!” It’s now or never. I could be choosing no choices whatsoever. Sad to see the ancient and distinguished game that used to be very like another when your head’s down over your pieces, brother.

i think i understand your thoughts on the election candidates. i see it a little differently, but i have a different life situation from you.
as far as deltarune goes, i did find undertale charming and thought provoking, upon personal reflection. the new game is different and much shorter, which didn’t give it time to bring up topics i wanted to think about, but it’s still got the charming writing. but… it is easier for people to start liking things they are already familiar with.
i guess what i’m trying to say is, the game is fun. i can see why people like it and want to draw stuff about it. as for mr. fox’s comment, he may have been joking. he worked in a very volatile community before he made his first game, and a lot of people didn’t like homestuck simply because it was too popular.
but that might not be comforting. i hope you are doing ok.

Maybe that one guy was joking but his acolytes aren’t.
Whatever that is has seeped into other “communities” and made them more volatile. I think fandom is a poison. Long before those things but they have made it worse. Each one creates more homogeneity within and isolation from people who choose not to partake of it. I appreciate that YOU will talk to me rather than erasing me without a word.
But in 2006 before I knew people within fandoms, I was a more self-reliant person, emotionally. I allowed myself to be tainted by empty support and fake-positivity. I thought I liked that, before it was revoked without explanation. So I understand why people who are still in that want to create a fantasy euphoria that never ends, and having a strong central figure from which all directives flow, such as mr. fox (or science fox) maybe makes them feel like their system is more pure than those governed by corporations like nintendo or disney, even if there are common elements. Even if the person ends up developing a cult leader lifestyle whose criminal excesses get exposed, a la Purple-kecleon, and this is actually SUFFICIENT to send off the most devoted adherents, there will be another fandom with similar ideals to drift into. But I will never enjoy being in it again. I shouldn’t be so bothered by other peoples’ happiness, but I am, and my only option is to escape. If I can depend on myself again, it will be better for all people, even if just because they no longer encounter my disagreeable remarks.
My thoughts about political candidates, you mean insofar as I have no faith in them? It may just be from having seen so many who make the same promises. I think trans rights are coming regardless of current obstructions, just as gay rights, black rights and womens’ rights did. I don’t ask people not to fight, just to not blame people who aren’t against them over having a lower level of trust in, again, strong central figures.

I am sure most of these things have some sort of merit but I have too many negative associations with the people I see promoting them most heavily. I don’t have the energy for this anymore.
