page 61 of that is now available. And I swapped 60 with 59 again. What fun!
This comic takes a surprisingly long time to color considering that every page is purple.
Why do i keep making sequences in which the viewpoint and character positions do not change? drawing something twice is not one of my talents. Although observing my talent deficits is.
Can you determine which of these frames does not quite fit because I drew it separately from the others and then fortified with dialog from the frame I did draw but removed because it did not accomplish anything and I lacked space for both? Probably, but that question may have been so confusing that you do not actually know what I asked and so do not answer, and therefore I win!
It seems that I like my characters better the more mentally screwed up they become, even though this results in them having fairly interchangeable, and inconsistent personalities. All three of these dwobos here have some issue that the other two think is insane/imagined.

This here`s me trackback!
Charmlatan sez:
Crazy suits elpse, but I think this outburst is appropriate given elpse’s circumstance. Stress from the accident, journey trough a strange place, and subsequent events (and dope harassment) might have put elpse on edge.
I was shocked as elpse was when I noticed how fluid the purple roads were.
PurpleSpace sez:
I was unaware that the elpse does not like odd substances. So far, it seemed that the elpse could be amazingly brave, at least when it comes to protecting a nemitz!

I did show the liquid outside the lizard’s apartment before, although looking now I see that I did not focus on it much, and probably did not think much about it at the time. I remembered, though, when I drew the new page, that I had put liquid there. I thought I had made it purple but it is quite clearly grey there. I even looked at the picture when I started to draw the next page (you might think I would have looked before referencing it, but no…) and still did not realize the color was different until I went to write this comment. Most curious!

there elpse briefly deals with a non-solid substance, although it is not quite liquid. I can assure you elpse disliked the experience, however.

I don’t mind a scene like this, as It’s actually quite easy to forget that Alpshe is actually a stranger in these hear parts, and Muffineater a local, so it’s quite natural that Elpse should encounter things biv isn’t entirely prepared to deal with, yet which are everyday things for the Moofinator. It’s an interesting reversal of their typical relationship to one another (though Muffineater still retains biv’s attitude of somewhat over-earnest optimism all the same), which helps shake things up a bit, and put the characters in a somewhat more interesting position vis-a-vis one another.
In other news, I see Fenfizzelt still hasn’t gotten over Meeplesworth Entertainment’s declining to go forward with the production of Jope and Some Dopes on Ice.
Heapinfrimp sez:
This is something that was not in the “script” I had; I fairly recently came up with it and did not ponder it at very great a length prior to drawing it. I meant it to have significance later, but it might not. Indeed I thought my plan might be too obvious and in excess of what was necessary, but these responses suggest otherwise, which is good. I tend to over- or under-explain things. Hopefully this will work with Elpse’s long-expected outburst on the next page rather than deprive it of impact.
2014 is the Jope and Some Dopes ten year anniversary. I have planned festivities befitting of its enduring legacy.
