A scrap of another cartoon I never finished! Almost three years ago! It would have been the first verified appearance of the pathetic snake. I am not good at coming up with stories for these things, just nonsense filler for between what ought to be the important parts.
The other cartoon I have the “story” for but I keep adding needlessly elaborate background characters that need to be redrawn constantly and at some point I am going to have to sing the dang song into a machine. And then there are at least four more parts that I at the moment only have idiotic rhyming lyrics and midis for. There is no reason for me to say this because if you ever see the result, it will be eight or more years from now long after your mind has found a less useful fact to push this one out with.

This here`s me trackback!

I look forward to both, on the very edge of my seat! The sleepy background characters were lovely by the way. and your sonorous beet singing has been stuck in my head for weeks!
PurpleSpace sez:
I am curious if pathetic snake has a name other than pathetic snake?

ghost: The actual animated figures are somewhat simpler than the ones in the static artwork. Unfortunately some of the established foreground characters have too many details for me to easily recreate repeatedly with a mouse. I suppose it is my fate to only figure out good ways to do things after committing to doing them badly!
purplespace: Somebody calls the snake “chornwingen” in a non-drawn comic strip dating from October but I have not strongly considered the matter, and for the moment am confused by the description I wrote of the visual aspects so that may be some distance from being official.
Indighost sez:
Completely unrelated question. The fact that some of the singers in “The First Beet” had an English accent now makes me wonder. What sorts of accents do Elpse, Nemitz, and Keliphix have? How should I mentally listen to the upcoming future animated film-version of the comic?
Frimpinheap sez:
Of the recurring comic strip characters only mortimewde stapleton meepmire (the bowtie wretch) and occasionally the lizard have specific english language voices at the moment.
I have a habit of reading their lines aloud to amuse myself or imagining them saying dumb things to me specifically at other points and I end up telling them off. However, of those two, only the bowtie creature appears in the next beet segment.
