I suspect this might be funnier without the fourth frame, which makes it sad. Somebody else suggested it was better without the fifth. So I compromised and ruined it twice by including both.
It has the potential to be accurate but for the moment it is not.

What is a soda jerk? Is it the guy who made the birthday card
Purplespace sez:
Happy eats lot’s of cake and ice cream day?
Soda jerk can’t be that much of a somebody since their job was replaced with an automatic dispenser! Guy puts on a fancy paper hat and thinks he’s the guy who makes the milkshakes? I don’t think so! In my day we didn’t have copy machines that were also fax machines, you had to replace the toner yourself! You think your driver is good enough to install without having a computer memory option? That’s a laugh, they used to do that stuff by hand with a ruler and I didn’t see anyone purchasing free mylar for me! What do you mean it costs a monthly fee just because I haven’t been using it enough? I’ll use it when I feel like it and you’ll like it too!

I don’t think that snake has many happy days in general! But mine is in March, for what that is worth.
I took that line out of a momentary chance encounter with The Best Years of Our Lives, a movie filmed in the 1940s, a period during which jerks had more clout!
Do you speak from experience on the toner matter?
Purplespace sez:
The toner cartridge always needed replacing.
Now the color laserjet printer has 4 toner cartridges that run out twice as fast instead of just one big one.
Frimpinheap sez:
Is that color ink? I hope it isn’t mostly wasted on people printing out plain text recipes or email from pages with big colorful banner ads.
Purplespace sez:
The toner is color. Toner is a carbon powder, but newer laser jet printers use more of a polyester rubber powder that is melted to the paper. A tube in the printer called a drum is made to have a negative charge in the shape of where toner will be placed and toner sticks to the drum and is then pressed to the paper which is given positive charge just before it passes under the drum, thereby transferring toner to the paper. The toner is melted to paper just before it exits the printer. This can be done faster than ink because it is using lasers.
Frimpinheap sez:
You seem to be well informed!
Ah ha, I did not realize toner was not ink. Does it create higher quality images than ink?
