page 20 of that. it is fundamentally unchanged from before. The only difference is that it is better drawn, even though it is mostly the same drawings. Theoretically it should be much faster to redraw these now that the layouts already fit, but a comparison reveals I will still find a way to make new problems for meself.
One surprising development: When fiddling with this frame, I spoke aloud, to nobody/everybody, “I bet it would be really stupid to be lope.” Of course it would be, but why would I wait so many years to place an open wager on the expectation? Anybody who might think otherwise has surely long since lost all the money they were going to over such ignorance.

mr. lope has the biggest changes from how you drew him a long time ago to now. (although maybe it’s just that in this pic there is no trademark hat!) there are actually things about both ways that I like, so it’s not like one is better than the other.
also,
OH LOPE LOPE LOPE LOPE
Heapinfrimp sez:
the hat is falling off. I had not finished drawing it in at the point when I saved the picture here. I also did not finish, or even start the right arm. The biggest change from the old version is that I did in the end draw in the right arm. I only noticed last night that there had been a hand floating there for the past nine years.
Otherwise I mainly had the snout become more bulbous. I think the pointy version makes the lizard look too smart.
Ah I DID forget a crucial piece of dialog here. That can be remedied.
PurpleSpace sez:
But does lope think it is stupid to be lope? What would lope prefer to be other than lope?
Charmlatan sez:
This also marks the first stripe redrawn that was not formally black-and-white.The new panels are spaced-out better, giving each panel more room to breath, show a little more of the outside world before morphing into vivid patterns.lope’s impotent is a constant. I can’t wait to see lope crash the marathon.
spork sez:
oh lope, knows your bumblery no bounds?
Heapinfrimp sez:
spacko: lope thinks it is quite natural and normal to be lope. It is a ridiculous creature.
sporko: please do not encourage it to be more ridiculous!
charma chameleon: I did like the intimate feeling of the other setup, but this car is too bizarre to grant interesting opportunities vertically now that I am more inclined to draw it moderately consistently than I was the first time.
I expect future draw-overs will add little, but since I am devoted to making it take this long, something extra would certainly be welcome.
